Sicá Leadership and Resilience

Through the science-based model ‘Leadership and Resilience’, this program seeks to prevent the use of substances, acts of violence and delinquency in young people who are enrolled in the education system.

It serves adolescents from 12 to 17 years old, participants of the TAU Center, of the Ricky Martin Foundation in Loíza, Puerto Rico. The program offers different tools to address the risk factors often associated with violence and substance abuse by strengthening resilience and increasing protective factors.

The project is based on three main components: school groups (preventive workshops), community volunteer experiences and adventure activities. Each component of the program complements the other two. These three elements together provide a comprehensive prevention program.

The organizational structure of the project is composed of a coordinator and two facilitators.
